New Christina Aguilera Promotional Pictures!

Here are two new promotional pictures for Christina Aguilera's greatest hits album "Keeps Gettin' Better: A Decade Of Hits" which will be released exclusively through Target on November 11th.

New Alicia Keys Video - "Another Way To Die"

The video for the official theme song for "Quantum Of Solace" has just been released! Perhaps, the makers of the 007 movies are trying something new. The song and video lack many elements we usually see in a Bond theme song. Class, mystique, a cool atmosphere, and although Alicia Keys has an amazing voice, this song doesn't show off her talent. I don't think it was the right collaboration for a Bond theme song. Alicia Keys should have paired up with someone else.

Janet Jackson - Hospitalized

Just as Janet Jackson was about to take the stage in Montreal, she was rushed to the hospital for unknown reasons.

A publicist for Gillett Entertainment Group says that the incident is reported at the last minute just before the show time. "We're not entirely sure (what happened)," Michal explains. "We don't have all the details. We just found out 20 minutes ago."

Tickets will be refunded at point of sale and a new date will be rescheduled. The "Rock Witchu" Tour is highly demanding as it includes a 38 song list, and lots of costume changes.

It isn't the first time that Janet had to cancel one of her "Rock Witchu" shows. Last Friday, she cancelled her Detroit show due to production constraints. Perhaps the stress of her split with Def Jam got to her...

New Britney Spears Song - "Womanizer"

Britney Spears’ first single off her new album has been released called “Womanizer”. Her new album “Circus”, will be released on December 2nd.

Just this week, Britney Spears shot her new song’s music video at L.A. hot spot Elevate and also in the kitchen of the restaurant, Takami Sushi & Robata.

Britney was photographed in a short black wig, but actually wears a long black wig for the video. An eyewitness said, “Britney was wearing tight leather pants and a tuxedo top and vest, and she had fake tattoos running up and down her arms.”

Listen to "Womanizer" below, personally I don't like the song at all, but I know many will like it. No matter what she does, people will like it.

Christina Aguilera Rocks The Vote in L.A!

Thursday night, Christina Aguilera promoted Rock the Vote in Los Angeles.

“Rock the Vote is obviously important to just to get the message out there to young and old — and especially to young — that your voice, your opinion does matter,” she said at the Esquire House opening-night event with Rock the Vote in Beverly Hills, California.

“It’s important for me, it’s important for the next generation — for my son’s generation,” she said. “It’s important to people my age and my sister’s age, 10 years younger. Everyone that is able to have an opinion should let it be heard and should voice it.”

On her greatest hits album: “I can’t believe it’s been a decade already,” she said, “but it’s very exciting. All the old, the biggest hits I’ve come out with [are on the album]. I don’t even know how to describe what a journey it’s been but it’s been amazing.”

“[We're] reinventing some of the old hits,” she said. ” ‘Genie [in a Bottle] 2.0′ is on the record, a [new] song called ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Keeps Gettin’ Better,’ ” which she performed at the VMAs earlier this month.

“[The album also has] a new version that’s really, really cool of ‘Beautiful’ that’s in the vein of where the next album is going to go, which is a very futuristic approach to music.”

Christina is also working on a new album which will feature the futuristic sound of “Keeps Gettin’ Better.” The album will be released next year.

“[It] definitely has touches of that, elements of that,” she said. “But [we] go further with that. That was a taste of what’s to come.”

Mariah Carey - Feeds The World

Mariah Carey has signed on as the Global Hunger Ambassador for the Yum! Foundation’s World Hunger Relief campaign.

Since yesterday, Mariah is encouraging people around the world to pick up a coded card at any of Yum’s 36,000 restaurants, which include KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silver’s and A&W. The card will allow fans to download her song, “Love Story,” off her latest album, “E=MC2,” at www.FromHungerToHope.com.

For every download, Yum will donate $.25 to the Hunger Relief campaign, which helps raise money for the United Nation’s World Food Program.

How much of this do you think Mariah will get? I doubt that she's doing this for free. In addition, the poster shouldn't put the children so far away in the background. This is nothing against Mariah, but it's not about her.

Ledisi Gets into the Christmas Spirit!

“I hope it will be something that people will pull out and listen to every year.” - Ledisi

Grammy-nominated R&B singer Ledisi is pumped for this holiday season! Fresh off the success of her major-label debut, she is set to release her latest artistic effort, a holiday themed album entitled It’s Christmas. This collection features twelve yuletide standards, reworked and re-imagined into Ledisi's signature style!

Check out the first single, 'Be There For Christmas'

Tracklisting:

~ I’ll Go
~ Children Go Where I Send Thee
~ Give Love on Christmas Day
~ Be There for Christmas
~ This Christmas (Could Be the One)
~ Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
~ What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve
~ It’s Christmas
~ What a Wonderful World
~ Please Come Home for Christmas
~ Silent Night
~ Thank You

On Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008, Verve Forecast will release It’s Christmas, a joyous new holiday recording from multi-talented singer, songwriter, producer, performer, and actress Ledisi. Recorded mostly live over the course of just three days, the result is a celebratory collection of holiday originals as well as Ledisi's soulful takes on Christmastime classics. “I hope it will be something that people will pull out and listen to every year,” Ledisi said.

Track by track, Ledisi – a two-time GRAMMY® nominee (for Best New Artist and Best R&B Album) in 2008 – brings her creativity and musical intuition to It’s Christmas. Innovative, yet totally in synch with the spirit and flavor of the holiday season, the twelve-track set is pure Ledisi - a soulful mixture of jazz, R&B, pop, and gospel.

Ledisi kicks off the celebration with “I’ll Go,” a beautiful piece written and arranged by gospel great Richard Smallwood. It’s Christmas also includes the traditional “Children Go Where I Send Thee,” the plaintive original “This Christmas (Could Be The One),” and the holiday classics “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve.” Ledisi adds a jazzy touch to “Silent Night,” creating an entirely new and memorable interpretation of the song for modern times.

In terms of her approach to making a Christmas record, Ledisi says, “I wanted the vibe of the album to reflect what it was like after Christmas in my household, when there would be ‘grown folk’ talk! You know, after a full day, the kids would be asleep and the adults would start to drink and laugh… I would sneak out and listen in! I wanted that kind of energy on the record.” Creating the right environment, “the studio was set up as if it was Christmas, with ornaments… and cookies at the end of the night!”

Reflecting her intention, Ledisi treats listeners to a brand-new version of a holiday staple in many a black household during the ’70s. “One of my aunts played all the Motown Christmas albums, and she always had the Jackson Five record on whenever we came to visit,” Ledisi grins. “We would go over and eat and she’d be playing ‘Give Love On Christmas Day.’ Of course, I loved me some Jackson Five, and we recorded it in the original key they sang it in.”

Co-written by Ledisi, the infectious “Be There For Christmas” is another cut with a “back-in-the-day” flavor. In fact, Ledisi co-wrote four songs for the set including the poignant title track, co-written and produced by the legendary George Duke.

It’s Christmas also features a number of special guests including trumpeter Christian Scott (on an unforgettable version of Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World”) and GRAMMY®-winning blues favorite Keb’ Mo’ (on the soul-flavored, Walter Kent-penned “Please Come Home For Christmas”).

Ledisi wraps up It’s Christmas with the upbeat original “Thank You.” She offers that the tune is “…my way of saying thanks to God for all the blessings, all the things that have gone on in my career. When I think of Christmas, I think of a time to be grateful for all that I have in my life.”

Janet Jackson - Splits From Def Jam

Janet Jackson has severed ties with Island Records after just fourteen months with the label. The move was prompted by Janet’s frustration of lackluster sales for her most recent album.

“They just stopped all promotion whatsoever on the album,” she said in a previous interview.

Janet has since asked to be released and Island Def Jam has complied.

“At her request, the record label has agreed to dissolve their working relationship with the popular artist,” Jackson’s rep said in a statement. “Now, more than 20 years after the release of her iconic album, Control, Janet will have autonomy over her career, without the restrictions of a label system.”

According to Jackson’s publicist, she is looking forward to being one of the first superstar artists to have the individual freedom that comes along with being a free agent.
