All that is needed is perhaps some sort of continued communication from the CORE. There hasn't been much activity - which is fine, but as long as the IV members know that CORE is alive and kicking - that is a big thing!

ya, lets step-up a poll and have everyone vote, as if this is the US congress. And after voting leave it for someone else to work on this and other "brilliant" idea. There needs to be a reality check. This poll doesn't mean anything unless there are enough people to spend time and energy at every level. But ya, lets setup a poll and have everyone vote, it will give everyone a feel good factor that everyone contributed in the advocacy effort, how? by voting in the pool and not doing anything about how everyone votes.

There is a lot of work done in the background and by the state chapters that you may not be aware of. for example when i was a member of a state chapter a volunteer printed 5000 pamplets and we spent a weekend distributing them. One volunteer was actively involved in collecting and mailing out letters for the letter writing campaingn. there are some who visit every temple and talk about IV. These people dont post on the forums or beg for red, blue or green dots, they do the best they can. On the other hand many come to the forums with a 'grand plan' and hope someone else will doe the rest. Most are so self absorbed that they would rather spend time debating how their application is superior and how they should get GCs first. The same people end up volunteering each time while the rest demand answers and ask why bills are not passed. I can also give specific examples of people who posted that they participated in a campaign simply to get green dots. The final straw for me was the EB2 Vs EB3. Each person has his/her threshold, and i am positive that the core will feel the same way some day.

For example, it can lead everybody everybody to send letters to USCIS and congressmen and the press for justice highlighting abrupt actions of USCIS. I made so many pamphlets in the thread "Lets get Organized" which can be sent alongwith to make an impact. It is not about eb2 or eb3, it is about accountability and transparency from USCIS. It does not involve any money from anybody excepting a 41 cents stamp on the letter which I think most of people should be ready to spend. However, the push from IV seems to be missing.

It is good idea. And ofcourse better than visa number, EB1/EB2/EB3 and all other crap. Countries like UK, Canada, etc. have similar kind of immigration policies.

We don't want to create more divisions based on how they got in to queue for GC. As a matter of fact, my company filed I-140 based on a old labor, where the skills were matching exactly and the previous person left the company. The company that I work in has 8500 employees, I was not even aware that they filed premium for I-140. I did not have to pay dime for all the process.
Pls remember filing substitution labor was legal back then.
However, USCIS removed this provision in 2007 and the discussion ends there.
When you compare all other issues that are the root causes for the retrogression, we are spending the time and energy on some thing that would not help any one.

Further, since I see all the notes made for my approved I-485 (thro' FOIA) including the worksheet completed by contractors. I clearly do not see any notations mentioned with reference to the ND on it...
That said, for the OP, since your RD is very close to the "official" processing date there are all chances that your application might have already gone under the eyes of a CAO (Center Adjudication Officer). Call NSC directly and ask since you are so close and especially since your date is going current next month....you want to make sure that your file is either pre-adjudicated OR assigned to an officer.

What I need to do now? My I-94 has wrong expiration date (I entered in US on 03/07/2007 and I got I-94 with expiration date as 01/10/2007). My attorney told me that it can be explained later. So, I've already file my 485 with a bad I-94.
Please let me know if anything can be done or still I can do something to correct this issue.

There are 2 possibilities here :
a) Wait for RFE to be issued, then reply to the RFE with evidence document and a written explanation. It may not be as simple, as they might issue a NOID if the I-94 date causes you to be artificially out of status / unlawful stay for > 180 days. Again this is just a best guess. Ask your lawyer for a more detailed explanation.
b) Use the I-539 status change form along with written explanation requesting an extension of your status because of the wrong date on the I-94 issued to you. Mail to CSC or VSC depending on jurisdiction. They should issue you a new I-94. When you get this, file an amendment to your original 485 that was filed. Again, suggest this approach to your lawyer and see what he says.

Hi, I have a question regarding the exempt cap for non profit H-1. I will graduate with a masters in education in 2008 and already have job offers to work in public schools.
My question was -
- does public school employment qualify under the non profit H-1B exempt category?
- Should I apply under the Masters quota?
Please reply as I have been searching for answers for a few weeks....

H-1B for secondary public schools does not qualify for the non profit H-1B exempt category. But since you have a Masters from the US you will fall under the 20,000 visas slot. Your employer will not have to pay for the H1B training fee of $1,500 at the time of filing. Good Luck!
