THIS INFO COULD VERY WELL BE CORRECT FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST.
DOS allocates visa numbers for each month, for consulates across the world and USCIS here to adjudicate 485s. They provide these agencies with the priority dates for approval + a limit. This could have been used up for the month of AUGUST.
The spill over from FAMILY CATEGORY can only be used starting from SEPTEMBER 01 2008. Otherwise it won't go with the interpretation of the law.
Also the spillover from EB1 (for august 2008 and anything remaining for the current year) will be applied on September 01.
So, what this means is: The numbers available as per the visa bulletin for AUGUST is over. Does not mean, it's over altogether.
The theory does sound right but why will they wait to apply the spillover when the dates are current already abd it just moved 2 months in the August Bulletin for September dates

A simpler suggestion would be to permit citizenship after 5 years of continuous lawful residence in the US...drop the word "permanent" from that law, and go straight from L-1 to USC, do not pass LPR, do not spend $10,000!:D
But seriously...It would actually fix a lot of problems for those who want US Citizenship, and because those would no longer apply for immigrant visas, those numbers would be available for those who do not wish to become US citizens.

The collection so far shows 33.33% of the $60K target as of December 11th.
Friends I pledge a $500 donation as soon as the figures reaches 500 less than halfway ... i.e $29,500 and another again once the figure reaches 500 less of $60,000 i.e $59,500. We have reached 40%. To reach 50% we need $6000 more. If more people can contribute, we can reach this in no time.
The core and a lot of serious members have already contributed.

$20 going to do?.
2) I have never contributed, but I am ashamed of making my first contribution of only $20.

Ok guys if at all this helps someone.......
My old passport had my surname as FNU,Given name as X **Y** Z**
My visa also has the same.
My I94 which i filled out has First name Z **and family name X** Y(only Initial).
When i renewed my passport i had it as
Surname X**
Given name Z** Y**
It was just the way i filled our the application and though they told me the name would be the same as in the previous one they issued based on what i filled up.
All my school records have X.Y.Z**
I had consulted my attorney and she said that USCIS is aware of thie name confusion and as long as all the names are there there should not be any problems.It doesnt matter if they are jumbled.Now even if she was wrong i am not worried at this stage.

Hey,
My lawyer had applied for my H1 for the masters quota on the 11th of April and I still havent got a receipt notice. I have had friends who applied after that and they got it.
I am getting worried about this. Mine was sent to the Vermont center. My lawyer assures me that my case has been filed but I am worried about it. Is there anyone who has had similar issues. Please do let me know

Many guys here worry too much, just relax and live a peaqceful life. Jus think this, we are highly educated and would defintely be able to make a living anywhere in the world, not just US. Don't worry tooo much and think others have no work and want to fool you guys.

I'm just saying make sure they are accepting them - can't you call FTD/1800 flowers and check if your flowers were delivered? It's a government building and they get really strict at times - I know because I work at one.

Rest of World means all countries which are not listed separately in the visa bulletins. It means all countries except India, China, Mexico and Philippins.

You can call this also as jealous. There are too many people from the other countries will have to wait because not having people to mass migrate to US. Arguments can be made in way. So be sympathetic. Your issue may not an issue for me. Do not call it as jealous
What they are saying not jealous. According INA priority date in case substitution is the day I-140 is applied. Somehow the original labor date was assigned as priority date . This might be an error but is causing problems and Inconvenience and injustice to some innocent people. You can call it as jealousy. That is alright but they have an issue which they need to fight. However small number may be it can benefit these guys.
If you do not support them that is OK. The moment you start using the word jealous, anti-immigrant etc. it stops the discussion.
I also looked around for subLC, could not get one and had the same state of mind. I was not willing to take risk for it, like leaving my current job etc. so I know first hand the exact state of mind.
regarding ur post: the point u r missing is the lcSUB was legal till middle of july 2007. It is not any more. At this point, it is like crying over something which is stopped 2 years back.
if you think from a balanced mind, that "visa recapture" and "end of discrimiation based on country of birth" can end woos to all of us.
As far as your argument for under representated countries, yes they do have visa lotterry and for your kind knowledge, india is not listed for this.
Lastly, would appreciate if you can update your profile and make some educated arguments.
