Joe Thomas Preps for New Album and Launches 'Emergency Room' Video Contest

R&B sensation Joe Thomas makes his return to the music scene with the release of his latest album, New Man on September 23rd. New Man marks an exciting time in his career as he has parted ways with Jive Records and teamed up with manager of 15 years, Kedar Massenburg, to release the album on Kedar Entertainment.

With platinum discs under his belt including All That I Am (1997) and My Name Is Joe (2000) and seven Grammy nominations, Joe is ready to take his career in his own hands. “Nothing against being signed to a major label, but most of the time it’s about what they want you to do as opposed to what the artist wants to do. I have nothing against Jive, but I really just wanted to be me. Seriously, I got tired of being held back.”

Teaming up with the likes of Bryan Michael Cox (Usher, Mariah Carey), D’Mile (Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige) and newcomers the Stereotypes (Danity Kane), Joe is ready to reclaim his status as a pioneer in the male R&B world. Joe proves he can stand alongside the new generation of R&B crooners with the release of dual singles, "Why Just Be Friends" and "E.R."

In conjunction with the release of New Man, Joe Thomas and Kedar Entertainment present the Emergency Room Video Contest. Fans are asked to download the
“E.R.” track and then create an original video for the song. Users can submit their original piece to the Official Emergency Room Video Contest YouTube group here.

The grand prize winner will receive a $1500 cash prize courtesy of Joe Thomas and Kedar Entertainment. The video will also be posted on Joe's official
MySpace page. Submissions will be accepted through September 23rd.
