1.Did anybody have recently got H1B stamping done in Hyderabad consultate.
Yes, I got it done in October.
2. Any issues with getting appointment dates.
No. The only issue I had was that they don't let you book well in advance, which makes it difficult to plan travel. Also, I did not realize until the last minute that you need to submit your documents 4 days in advance before the interview. Luckily one of my friends told me about it and I was able to request my dad to submit the documents in time. Not sure what would have happened if I did not submit the documents upfront...may be, they might have still allowed me in.
3. I have all the documentation in place including pay stubs in the last 8 years.
Good. I have been working for 8 years as well and took the paystubs for just this year(2010) and tax returns for past 3 years. But, they did not ask anything as I was renewing for the same company for the same job. They just asked what I do for the company.
4. Is it preferable to get stamping done in Canada than in Hyderabad,
I prefer Hyd as that is where my parents live and I don't have to waste travel fares, visa fees (for canada visa), hotel, vacation etc by going to canada. I just got it done when visiting my parents. If you live close to Canada or have special travel needs, then may be Canada should be considered.
5. How many days does it take to get the passport back.
7 days total I think, including weekend.

DOL wont inform the candidate.
It is totally the companies call to let you know or keep you in dark about approval/denial.

Obama tapped Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on June 25 to work with Congress to speed up immigration reform as senators warned another failed effort could doom chances for a generation. Obama said he asked Napolitano to meet regularly with lawmakers to systematically work through a number of controversial issues, such as how to handle the 12 million illegal immigrants already in the United States and how to prevent future illegal immigration.
The president has been criticized for not following through on a campaign pledge to tackle the issue this year. He has urged the Democratic-controlled Congress to start pushing now to pass legislation.

I was in a similar situation as you and had to use this firm. H1B filing experience was fine but the entire GC process and filing was not a good experience at all. There were days I had to call the paralegal and teach him the new immigration laws and that's never a good sign ! Because of their mistake I was stuck in Eb3 rather being in Eb2. May be they will deal differently with your case but have a chat with them and your company managers before you agree to use them. I m with another company and another attorney firm and they are awesome !

Not sure if I will make the category, but feel that I should consult with a good immigration attorney and explore the option. Who knows? I wish there was a category for people who were doing the work that directly improved the lot of the American people. Not-for-profit is not lucrative nor glamorous, so there should be some incentives :)

Just get a letter addressed to Consular Office, US Consulate , City ( where your wife is scheduled for interview) . In the letter just mention in subject line "request to grant visa to spouse of Mr XXX" and in body just mention the details like Mr XXX is working with us since DATE As DESIGNATION and his salary is $XXXX. We request you to please grant his spouse Mrs XXX H4 visa so that she can join her husband in USA.

Your eligibility to apply for this program is contingent upon the fact that you hold a current H1B and are working on H1B for atleast one year. It is also important to prove your H1B status when you get your permanent residency with Canada. With the over flow of applications, they added another clause in the form of eligibility which will make only "IT Managers" eligible for this category. They were taking applications with all NOC codes but offlate around May 29, the eligibility is dependent on your IT Manager role.

We had applied for an extension of my in-laws visa, and it got rejected. Is there any way we can appeal this decision?
Also, they are here a day past their I-94 expiration. Will their multiple entry visas be cancelled? They will leave within 30 days time past their I-94 expiration.

What to do? This is so frustrating. ARGHH!!!!
I know I have the right to ask for them but I want to keep it civil and not antagonize her. Is there any reason I can give her, like travel, to make her send me the originals without getting into a fight?

Sorry to say this but it is totally speculative. It may be It may not be. It may be someone elses I140. You have to think about a way to get it from the employer or USCIS.
I am not a concurrent filer but i hope people would post their dates for your speculation. Good Luck.

Employer cannot withdraw your I-485 without your consent and signature, notwithstanding G-28 form.
